Kopet Dag Mountain is the celestial mountain system situated at the border between Turkmenistan and Iran. It means "many mountains". The mountain range extends east to west, 650 km, full of rivers, where the largest of which are Atrek and Sumbar. On the northern slopes, you will find the capital of Turkmenistan – Ashgabat. The region where the mountain is seismic. In 1948, there was a tragic earthquake killed the lives of tens of thousands of people.
The area of Kopetdag has semi-desert in the alpine landscape. There are animals such as the cheetah, leopard, jackal, striped hyena, Kopetdag ram and bezoar goat. In the middle of the 20th century, the Kopetdag standby was shaped on the territory of the Range.
In the course of a tour, you will see small villages where Turkmens and Iranians live as well as the recreational area, which is in a case of developing. In 2000, a health path was built in Ashgabat. It has 36 km long and goes along the outstanding slopes of Kopetdag. It is worth visiting it in your travels.
