Complex of Monuments of Oguz Han

One of the main and significant sights of the capital of Turkmenistan is Oguzhan and Sons. It is located in the city center on the way to the airport. Due to solar panels the whole lighting system works.

After the proposal for the reconstruction of the fountain was put forward, a draft of the new fountain was approved in November, the Turkish company Polymex was engaged in construction. The official opening took place with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on June 29, 2008. Due to the large number of fountains united together in a public place, it was added to the Guinness Book of Records. This event took place in 2010.

This incredible architectural creation represent Oguzkhan who was the legendary ancestor of the Turkic peoples sitting with his raised hand on a horse in the center of the fountain, and his six sons: Gyun-khan (lord of the sun), Ai-khan (lord of the moon), Yildiz-khan (lord of stars), Hek-Khan (the lord of heaven), Dag-Khan (lord of the mountains) and Dengiz-Khan (lord of the sea).

It was composed by creative team led by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Babasar Annamuradov. The architectural complex consists of 27 fountains located on an area of ​​about 15 hectares. All fountains are synchronized, lit and fully programmable. The meaning of this composition is “symbolizing the peacefulness of the Turkmen people, their indestructible unity and solidarity, and at the same time, the creative spirit and power of modern Turkmenistan.”
