Tour 3: Blue Charm

Day 1: Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
You will be met by the driver in the airport and then transferred to Dushanbe. Today you will have a city tour where you can visit the Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then you can walk along the National park and take wonderful photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs as well as the biggest National Flag in the world of 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. After that you will drive 35 km to visit Hisor fortress (VII–XVII centuries) where you can see fortified areas and citadel. Before it was residence of the delegate of the Emir of Bukhara which is located on a high hill. It has wall of 1 m thick and loopholes for guns and cannons as well as pool and a garden. Many times ago there was a busy market square with a caravan serai and shops. Also the entrance gate with its two towers. You can also visit the monuments of “Madrasa I Kuhna” (new school of 16th -17th centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” (16th century). Return back to Dushanbe. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe – Norak – Kalai Khum
The day will start by driving to Kalai Khum village. On the way you will see Norak water reservoir or Tajik Sea. On the way we will visit Shuraba pass of 2 267 m and after drive along Afghanistan border. You will see a big territory of Pamir Mountains which was inspired by the world’s greatest explorers as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. So you are lucky to be here. You will drive along natural border – Pyanj River. On the way you will see the giant mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. We are sure you will like it. This night you will spend in a home stay.
Day 3: Kalai Khum – Khorog
Today we will drive to Khorog. It is one of the tiniest cities on the map of the world surrounded by rocky mountains. The town was built with the help of 3 rivers where Shokhdara River and Ghund River flow into Pyanj River. You will meet Pamir people. The Pamir people are apart from the Tajik people. You will see them with blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world after the Himalayas in Tibet. In addition you will learn more about the life in the mountains as well as traditions and culture. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog – Langar
The tour will start by driving to Langar village. It is situated in in the heart of Asia. You will see the Pamir Mountains! They belong to sky-scraping with snowy peaks. On the way you will see transparent clear blue waters of lakes and rivers, wide valleys and bone-dry deserts. It has the name as “the Roof of the World”. The land of Pamirs is located at elevations from 3 500 to 4 200 meters above sea level. Pamirs are very beautiful and famous among travelers. You will have opportunity to see many interesting things during a tour and enjoy. On the way you can take photos. Above the village of Vrang, on a cliff-side pitted with caves, there is a Buddhist complex found in the 4th- 7th centuries. On arrival in Langar we will visit Abreshim Kala (Silk Fortress). Night is in a home stay.
Day 5: Langar – Yashil Kul Lake – Bulunkul Lake – Murgab
It is important to note that the most beautiful lakes of the Pamirs are Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes). They stretched on the altitude of 3 700 meters above sea level and situated in the Murghab district. The color of water in Bulunkul always varies. It is kind of violet and dark-blue in the sunlight. There are a lot fish in the lake. Travelers will have the chance to see yaks and other mountain animals. They produce wool, milk and meat. On the way to the lake you will drive over Khargush pass of 4 344 m. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 6: Murgab – Khorog
In the morning we will drive to Khorog along Pamir Highway. It is known as M41 Pamir Tract and defined to be the second highest mountain road after highway of Tibet. You will find out mountains and passes on the elevations of more than 4 000 meters above sea level. On the way you will drive over Koitezak pass of 4 271 m. There is landscape and rocky mountains showing wildlife. You will find there the most common species of wild mammals as Turkestan rat, tiger-cat, grizzly bear, badger, stoat, fox, grey and red wolves as well as population of Marco Polo sheep. It is the largest sheep in the world. Night is in a guesthouse.
Day 7: Khorog – Kalai Khum
We will drive to Kalai Khum. It is the same road as to Kalai Khum. You will see high rocky mountains over 6 000 meters. Passing though the Pamirs, the tourists will have the opportunity to see beauty of nature from all four wings and remember for a long time. The rich landscape and mountains will not leave anyone indifferent. On the way you will see small villages and locals. On the other side of the river you will see Afgan stony villages and gardens and take photos. Overnight is in a hotel.
Day 8: Kalai Khum – Khoburubot – Dushanbe
Today we will drive to Dushanbe via mountain road. You will drive over high Khoburubot Pass (3 252) known as Western Pamir Tract. On the route you will see stunning river valley and gorges in the terrain. You can stop there for photo-shoot. You can also see small villages and meet local people. In general Tajik people are very kind and hard workers. They are famous for hospitality and respect traditions and folklore. The beauty of nature will inspire you and make you come here again and again. Night is in a hotel.
Day 9: Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake
We are glad to impress you by the high Mountain lake – Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). It is situated in the famous Fann Mountains. It is one of the best places of Central Asia. We are sure you will love it! The wonderful road will go over Anzob pass (3 372 m). On the way you will see beautiful panorama views and capture it Then you will go for a walk along it beaches and rest. You can also hike 40 minutes to see a waterfall. Nowadays Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources. It has the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Today you will spend the night is in a guesthouse.
Day 10: Iskanderkul – Dushanbe
The tour will start by driving to Dushanbe via Anzob pass. Its height is about 3 372 m. You will pass tunnel of Isticlol. On the way you will have the chance to take a lot of photos and enjoy your trip. Today we will have hiking at this Fann Mountains. We have no doubt you will like a mountain area so called "Kuhistan". Kuhistan is Farsi means "Mountainous Country". There are more than 30 pure and variegated lakes of different size and shape. Nowadays Fann Mountains are very popular among travelers as well as locals. It is one of the best places for trekking. There is a rich flora and fauna which will not leave anyone indifferent. Afterwards is transfer to Dushanbe. Overnight is in a hotel.
