Tour 2: Along Wonder

In short: Dushanbe – Penjakent – Seven lakes – Norak – Dushanbe 

Day 1: Dushanbe
You will be met by the driver in the airport. He will accompany you to Dushanbe. Today you will have a city tour. You will visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then we will walk in National park. Being there you can make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs. There is the biggest National Flag in the world of 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, and 60 m long. After that you will visit to Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Don’t miss to visit the famous Asian bazar. You will find there anything you want and taste oriental sweets, fresh vegetables and fruits. Afterwards is transfer to hotel and night.

Day 2: Dushanbe – Penjakent
Today we will drive to Penjakent via pass Shahriston (3 378 m). You will drive over Anzob pass (3 372 m).  There is a beautiful panorama views. Talking about the city of Penjakent ("five villages"), it is located in Khujand area of Tajikistan along the famous Zeravshan river valley. These five villages were found in in the 5th-8th centuries AD and was one of the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. The second name of this city was "Central Asian Pompeii". It was well-ordered city with a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with many paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. Talking about ruins, they were found only in the last century. Travelers will have the opportunity to see wonderful items of ancient times as the remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshiper’s church. Today you will spend the night is in a hotel.

Day 3: Penjakent – Seven lakes – Penjakent
We will drive today to the Fannsky Gory (Fan Mountains). They are one of Central Asia's most popular hiking areas. You will do a day trip from Panjakent to the Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes), about 60 km south of Panjakent. At this place you will have time to go for short hiking. There road goes along a gorge where 7 lakes are located. They are situated on different altitudes and have different colors. Also you will meet local people that live at that area. It will be very interesting to see their way of life. After hiking we will come back to hotel.

Day 4: Penjakent – Dushanbe – Norak – Dushanbe
Today you will drive to Dushanbe in order to visit Norak city. On the way you will see the Norak water reservoir (Tajik Sea). We will drive over Chormahzak and Shar – Shar passes as well as the tunnels. Norek is a city in the Khatlon province of Tajikistan and situated on the Vakhsh River of 885m above sea level, and is 70km southeast of Dushanbe. It has a population of 19,000 and founded on the site of the former village of Norek, means (pomegranate) in tajik language. The modern city was established in 1960 to support the construction of nearby Nurek Dam, which was completed in 1980. Nowadays the Nurek Dam is the world highest dam of 300m (984ft) on Vakhsh River in Tajikistan. It is located in a deep gorge along the Vakhsh River in western Tajikistan. In tour you will have the opportunity to take outstanding photos. After sightseeing you will return to Dushanbe. Overnight is in hotel.
